Steamer Lane

Steamer Lane

Steamer Lane Surfing

Location: Santa Cruz County, CA

Features: This place is very social, and it’s a nice place to hang out, but it’s really more for experienced surfers. In the summertime, a lot of people are hanging out here, and it can almost feel like there’s a big crowd watching you every time you go out on a wave.

Beach: Steamer Lane is located right in Santa Cruz, and you get instant access and it’s easy to find. This place is for experienced surfers only (if you’re surfing that is). It’s a great place just to take the family to chill out and have a good time. The waves are very frequent (more than half the year), and they are of World Class quality. It is crowded there during the week, and it can be more crowded on the weekend. This is a world-famous spot, and it is a good place to surf for anyone in the upper mid-level or anyone advanced. This is a fun place, and it’s very chill. There are a lot of old-time surfers who have been surfing there for decades. You should always remember to show basic courtesy while you’re here.
