Following Ballona Creek for 7 miles, the Ballona Creek Bike Path commences from Syd Kronenthal Park to the Pacific Ocean where it connects with Santa Monica Beach and South Bay Bike Path.

The Ballona Creek features a diverse bike path ranging from residential neighborhoods to wetlands – specifically the Ballona Wetlands. The mentioned wetland is home to a variety of flora and fauna, the estuary to blue herons, egrets, and sparrows along with migratory birds. The bike path can be accessed off on many major streets. However, in recent years, there have been reported assaults of cyclists on Sawtelle Boulevard, including 405 and 90 Freeway overcrossings. Caution is advised on these areas.
