Castle Rock Trail – Contra Costa County

Castle Rock Trail is enjoyed by many. Hence, heavily trafficked. It is a 9.5 kilometer loop trail that features pretty wildflowers but not many trees.

Most hikers bring their dogs on this trail but always remember that they should be kept on a leash. Altogether, this trail is moderate and can be enjoyed by beginner hikers. Just watch out for the last hill because it’s pretty steep! It’s mostly an open space so you can enjoy the wide view.

Top 3 Adventure Hacks

1) Wear something comfortable

Comfort before beauty! You might want to wear a soft comfortable shirt that has adventure written all over it. Pair it with hiking shorts too.

2) Bring a hiking buddy or two

This trail is best enjoyed with companies who share the same thrill of adventure you have!

3) Brink snacks

Bring your favorite trail mix that could keep you energized throughout your hike.
