Lassen Peak Trail

Location: Mount Lassen, California

Features: Hiking trails, hot springs, rock climbing, wildlife observation, no dogs.

Located near Old Station in California, Lassen Peak is a 4.5 mile moderately trafficked trail. It starts from the Lassen Peak parking area at an elevation of 8,500 feet. The popular trail is 2.5 miles one-way to the summit. On top, it provides stellar view of the Devastated Area, a view from the top looking down – it is the best vantage point in reference to the 1914 volcanic eruptions.
