Located between Louisville, Kentucky and Nashville in Tennessee.It will take a 1.5 hour travel to the south, if you are coming from Louisville. This 52,000 acre park consists of very interesting underground sinkholes, cracks, underground rivers and other bodies of water. One interesting history of the cave is that it was believed to cure tuberculosis. So a hospital was built within the area. It is both a heritage site and biosphere reserve. One of its main tributaries still flowing up to now is the Green River. Smoke writings are featured in the cave walls and showed as part of guided tours. Paved walkways are provided for easier access. Lots of family friendly activities to choose from like ranger led walks, talks, junior ranger activities, cave tours, hike, horseback riding, water activities (canoeing, kayaking), camping and biking
