The Hike:

Black Hill Trail is a short trail located near Morro Bay in California. This great area features gorgeous wildflowers all throughout. The main uses for this short trail are hiking, nature trips, camping, and walking. You can access the trail all year long.

Some of the features of the area include wonderful forests, a great beach area, spectacular views, gorgeous wildflowers, and wildlife. When you walk along the trail you will be treated to a wonderful panoramic view when you reach the top of the hill.

The trail is named for the ancient 661 foot high volcanic peak located in the Morro Bay State Park. Here you will find both an easy route to the peak as well as a longer route. You can reach the summit that overlooks the bay using either of the routes. Once you reach the peak you will have a wonderful ocean view that stretches from the Montana de Oro all the way to San Simeon.

Top 3 Adventure Hacks

1) Bring an Ultralight Tent

If you decide to go camping on this trail, bring a tent that’s very light for you to carry.

2) Appreciate the wildflowers

When going on a hike, it’s not only the thrill of adventure you should embrace. Remember the other elements that surround the thrill. Nature and everything else around you!

3) Reach the summit

There’s nothing else fulfilling when you get to the summit. Remember that you started strong, finish strong. Don’t turn back before you see the views from the top.
