The Amargosa River is an intermittent waterway located in Southern Nevada and drains a high desert region, the Amargosa Valley in the Amargosa Desert into the Mojave Desert and finally into Death Valley. The Amargosa River Trail, meanwhile, follows the course of the river canyon between China Ranch and the small community of Tecopah.

The trail is leveled and follows the Old Spanish Trail. It features a diverse variety of wildlife, especially birds. The trail also passes by a waterfall and interesting geological features.
