Crystal Lake Hike – Sequoia National Park

A 2.5 mile lightly trafficked loop nearby Mammoth Lakes in California, Crystal Lake Hike starts at the end of Sequoia National Park’s Mineral King Valley Road at the Sawtooth Trailhead. The trail stretches around 5 miles through the Monarch Lake Trail, climbing to the Monarch Creek. On top, it features stellar view of Timber Gap and Sawtooth Peak.
Apart from the scenic view on top, the trail takes hikers through a maze of underground caves underneath Mineral King to an alpine meadow. After departing from Monarch Lakes Trail, the Crystal Lake branch moves southward and into Chihuahua Bowl. Chihuahua Bowl features a good view of the Chihuahua Mine near the south rim. The trail ends at Crystal Lakes.
