Mitchell’s Cove Beach
Location: Santa Cruz County, CA
Features: This is one of the best spots in the country for experienced surfers. You can easily find yourself on a big wave, and you shouldn’t even attempt this site unless you’re a real veteran surfer. You can get on a really epic wave if you come out here on the right day. This surf spot is located right in the city, and it’s pretty easy to find. It’s right off of West Cliff drive. The wave frequency is pretty regular, so you will have a good shot at catching a good wave on most any day you come out here. A lot of people love this spot, and it has been referred to as the best surf destination in the country. If you show up on the right day here, you can catch a major wave. One thing to watch out for is that this spot can be very competitive, and you might want to head over to another spot if you don’t want that vibe.
Beach: Make sure you don’t change in the nude in the parking lot area, because people live right across the street from it. This spot can be really crowded during the week and on the weekend.
